Don started singing and playing guitar in college with a 4 piece rock band called the Sig Ep Heartbeats. In the late 60's and 70's he formed a folk group, The Noblemen and a country / folk / rock duo named Don and Judie. In 1979, he founded the Connecticut Songwriters Association and continues today as
Director Emeritus. In 1982-83, he fronted his own 5 piece country band. For the past
27 years, his One Man Show has consisted of vocals, guitar, harmonica, banjo with prerecorded bass, drums and keyboards. He now offers 11 shows with hats, props and an audience-handout Song Request List with
250 song titles divided into 8 different song categories. Shows may be performed indoors or outdoors, day or evening, and professional sound and
lighting are provided. Don owns Rainbow Music , a teaching and recording studio in Glastonbury, CT. Don has performed thousands of shows including recent concerts at the Torrington Library, Norton Park in Plainville, 27 years at Lebanon Fair, 27 years at Strawberry Park Campground in Preston, CT, the Big E Camping Show in Springfield, MA, First Nights in Hartford and Mystic, Danbury and Torrington, He was a featured summer performer at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury, CT and has played 15 different CT country fairs, over 100 Florida R.V. Parks and hundreds of New England park and rec. concerts, senior centers, restaurants and clubs including the U.S. Subase in Groton, CT. |
